The Overhead Door Legacy chain drive garage door opener is a standard chain drive opener with 1/3 or 1/2 HP AC motor. The full chain drive and solid steel T-rail make this a durable option.
 The Legacy chain drive garage door opener is a great choice if you want a solid chain drive opener for your single or double car garage door. The chain drive mechanism is noisier than a screw drive or belt drive model, but the Legacy model performs reliably.
Overhead Door Legacy Chain Drive Features
With a gear housing that is fully enclosed and permanently lubricated, the Legacy delivers reliable performance. The Model 496 (1/3 HP) comes standard with a lighted wall button (like a door bell) and the Model 696 (1/2 HP) includes the Deluxe Wall console with vacation lock and independent light control. Both Legacy models include a 1-Button remote control.
The Model 496 includes a 5 year motor and 3 year parts warranty and the Model 696 offers a Lifetime motor and 5 year parts warranty. Your Overhead Door dealer can customize accessories to suit your needs, and the Legacy Chain Drive model is HomeLink® compatible.
Overhead Door Safety and Security
Overhead Door's standard security and safety features are included with the Legacy Chain Drive opener. CodeDodger® rolling code remotes and the six part Safe-T-Beam® self diagnostic system are standard. The Safe-T-Beam® system stops and reverses the garage door when operation is interrupted (see more details below).
