Genie Direct Lift Garage Door Opener

"One advantage of the Genie Direct Lift screw drive garage door opener is fewer moving parts."

The Genie Direct Lift garage door opener is a 1/2 HP model from the originator of the screw drive opener. Engineered for maximum lifting power and long life, the Direct Lift screw drive opener has a solid steel screw drive for maximum strength.Genie Direct Lift

All Genie garage door openers come with safety and security features. The Safe-T-Beam® self diagnostic system will stop and reverse the garage door if something interrupts it during operation and the Intellicode® rolling code technology will automatically change the electronic access code every time the opener is used.

This basic Genie DirectLift™ model comes standard with two single-button remote controls and a push button wall control, as well as a 10-year motor warranty and 2-year parts warranty. If you want a few more options, the Genie Direct Lift Plus comes with two 3-button remote controls, a deluxe wall console and wireless entry keypad (for outside the garage) as well as a 15-year motor and 3-year parts warranty. Both DirectLift™ models are HomeLink® compatible, allowing you to open and close your garage door with the HomeLink button in your car if yours is equipped with this option.

One advantage of the Genie Direct Lift garage door opener is fewer moving parts. Because the Direct Drive system requires fewer parts, the opener tends to be quieter and require less maintenance than other openers.

Reviews for the Genie Direct Lift opener are slightly above average but not excellent, receiving from 3 to 3.5 out of 5 stars from the Amazon.com and Sears.com websites, respectively. Comments range from "it's very quiet" to "it's very noisy," and from "it's very strong" to "it's not strong enough." For a few dollars more, the Genie Direct Lift Plus model receives much higher marks from reviewers, garnering an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

NOTE: A rail extension kit is necessary if your garage door is more than seven feet tall.
